Reusable Sanitary Pads Project Report

*Executive Summary*

The reusable sanitary pads project, initiated in January 2025, aimed to improve menstrual health and hygiene among 500 rural girls and women by providing them with reusable sanitary pads and training on menstrual health. The project has achieved significant success, with 30% of participants reporting improved menstrual health and hygiene.

 

*Introduction*

The reusable sanitary pads project was designed to address the challenges faced by rural girls and women in accessing affordable and hygienic menstrual products. The project was implemented in partnership with local schools and community-based organizations in kisoro District, uganda 

 

*Objectives*

1. Improve menstrual health and hygiene among 500 rural girls and women.

2. Provide reusable sanitary pads and training on menstrual health.

3. Reduce the stigma and taboo associated with menstruation.

 

*Methodology*

1. *Training and Capacity Building*: Participants received training on menstrual health, hygiene, and the use of reusable sanitary pads.

2. *Reusable Sanitary Pads Distribution*: Participants were provided with reusable sanitary pads and instructed on how to use and maintain them.

3. *Community Outreach*: Community outreach programs were conducted to raise awareness on menstrual health and hygiene.

 

*Results*

1. *Improved Menstrual Health*: 30% of participants reported improved menstrual health and hygiene.

2. *Increased Confidence*: 10% of participants reported increased confidence and self-esteem.
