TFP is reaching children in Gaza who have lost their families and entire school years. For these children education is not a luxury; it is the one thread still connecting them to their future. We'll train 200 teachers across 35 Community Centers to become both educators and caregivers, helping them learn and trust again. Every dollar invested doesn't just fund a training session, it gives a child hope, prepares him/her to heal and grow. These children cannot wait, and neither can their teachers
Since October 2023, schools across Gaza have been destroyed or turned into shelters, leaving hundreds of thousands of children with no formal learning. Community centers filling the gap are overcrowded, under-resourced, and lack structured curricula. Teachers, many displaced themselves, work without training in remedial education, trauma-informed practice, or psychosocial support. What remains is a widening gap between what children urgently need and what the system can provide.
TFP in partnership with Taawon will deliver a comprehensive teacher training and child support intervention. The project will train 200 teachers to support 10,000 orphaned children through six core areas: remedial education, psychosocial support, inclusive education, active learning strategies, digital learning tools, and safe classroom management in crisis. It also includes classroom coaching, peer learning, educational exhibitions, designed to sustain and deepen the impact beyond the training
This project creates lasting change by improving education for thousands of vulnerable children in Gaza while building a network of trained teacher leaders. It will improve literacy and numeracy for orphaned children, strengthen emotional wellbeing and resilience, build safer learning environments in displacement settings, and establish a scalable training model for education in emergencies. Beyond the classroom, it will help children rebuild meaningful connections with families and communities.
