Every Child Counts

By Carly Kruyer | Founder

Hello Friends!

We all know the line, "Every donation counts," but actually, "Every child counts."

Haran, the youngest child we've screened to date, a "just turned" four-year-old, who recently received his first pair of glasses through Eyes of Africa. Haran is the third child in his family to receive glasses from Eyes of Africa. While we didn't identify his need from a school screening, it was an obvious decision after meeting the family at a recent check up, that we should take Haran to a Developmental Optometrist for a screening.

Haran's situation is not unique. Across Africa, children like him are struggling with undiagnosed vision problems, which significantly impact their ability to learn and thrive in school. By providing timely screenings and access to glasses, we are breaking down barriers to education and empowering our children to succeed.

And for Haran, we know that in a few years he'll be starting school with the best possible opportunity to actively participate in the classroom and with his peers.

Every child deserves the chance to see the world with clarity. Our impact extends beyond the individual child to their families and communities, as improved vision leads to better academic performance, increased confidence, and enhanced opportunities for future success.

As a grassroots organization, we heavily rely on the generosity of donors to support our programs and expand our reach. Haran would probably not have had this opportunity if it wasnt for our partners and donors, so on behalf of Harans family and Eyes of Africa, we cannot thank you enough for the support.

With love,

Carly Kruyer
