Thank you for your continued support for our project to Restore sight to 200 villagers in South Eastern Nigeria, whichprovides much needed general and specialist eye care services.
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact on our and local partners ability to undertake charity work, and the ongoing security problems in southern eastern Nigeria are making things worse.
The good news however, is that we have two eye screening sessions this September to provide eye tests and prep individuals for cataract operations.
For our wider charity work, we are continuing with arrangements to start a medication maintenance programme by the end of the year, working with local health centres. The aim is to enable the poorest individuals to receive regular supplies of medications (mainly for high blood pressure and diabetes) to help them maintain some level of control of these conditions.
We are also continuing to provide more small interest free loans to the poorest in communities who have been disproportionally affected by the pandemic, assisting them with petty trading and subsistence farming to feed their families.
We thank you so much for your continued support.
Please stay safe and keep well!
