Restore Hope in Climate-Affected Communities

By Ntenga Moses | Project Leader

Because of your generosity, families affected by recurring floods in Kasese District, particularly in Muhokya, Kanyangeya, and Maliba sub-counties, are rebuilding their lives with renewed hope. During this reporting period, 30 people (17 children and 13 adults)from 12 flood affected households received emergency and recovery support, helping them recover from the impacts of climate-related disasters. Floods and displacement continue to disrupt children's education, safety, and access to basic needs in these communities.

Your support provided essential relief items, including food supplies, soap, reusable sanitary pads, clothing, and child protection services. Beyond immediate assistance, families received guidance on hygiene, child safety, and climate resilience practices to help them better withstand future shocks.

What your donation made possible

  1. $20 helped provide a family with soap and hygiene supplies to reduce health risks in temporary settlements.
  2. $50 helped provide food assistance for a vulnerable household facing displacement.
  3. $100 helped support children with protection services, psychosocial support, and essential learning materials.

One beneficiary, a 14 year old female from Muhokya, shared:

"When the floods came, we lost almost everything. I missed school because we had nowhere to stay and no supplies. The support helped my family get food and basic items again. I feel hopeful because I can continue learning and dream about my future."

Another parent, Mrs. Kiiza, told us:

"We felt forgotten after the floods. When help arrived, it reminded us that people far away care about our children. The food and hygiene supplies provided by you helped us survive the difficult weeks."

Your compassion is doing more than meeting urgent needs; it is helping children regain stability, dignity, and hope. Every contribution demonstrates to families facing climate-related disasters that they are not alone.

Thank you for standing with vulnerable children and families in Kasese. Together, you are helping communities recover today while building resilience for tomorrow.
