n Kasese District and the Rwenzori region of Uganda, hundreds of vulnerable children and women are living in camps without food, clean water, shelter, or hygiene facilities after devastating floods. Joy for Children Uganda (JFCU) is working to restore their lives. Your donation will help support 100,000 people affected by the floods, providing essential resources and protection, and helping them rebuild their lives in the aftermath of this crisis.
Imagine your home, crops and other properties being destroyed by floods, in the same period your trying to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. A second wave of floods have destroyed many villages in Kasese district, Uganda, as River Nyamwamba and several other rivers burst their banks. The disaster committee report 123,800 people, with women and children from over 24,760 households having been affected - lost homes, crops and many properties, now living in camps and at risk of COVID19, malaria etc.
Joy for Children Uganda (JFCU) believes, helping children from the affected households with life-saving aid is important to creating hope and reducing vulnerability to child violations and abuse during these hard times. People are in dare need for food, blankets and hygiene materials. The team on the ground is preparing Food packs and Hygiene items for over 900 vulnerable children from 300 households surviving in these conditions. Donate now and support a child.
Supporting the hundreds of thousands of families who have been forced into overcrowded camps, churches and schools in Kasese district, Uganda by rising floodwater-from rivers busting their banks during the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing is not possible in these camps, and families have no food, hygiene materials, nowhere to go and do the protection.
