STILL COMMITTED TO RURAL EDUCATION – EVEN WITHOUT FUNDING
At Hope Spring for All Nations, our mission to improve the quality of education in rural communities remains unwavering, even in the face of limited resources. Since our last update and the successful delivery of 30 wooden benches to a school in Nsuke, we have not received new donations through GlobalGiving to continue production and distribution.
Still, we want our supporters and the GlobalGiving community to know: we are not giving up. We are actively planning and working behind the scenes to build on the success of our past efforts and prepare for new impact opportunities the moment funds become available.
REFLECTION & IMPACT STORY FROM NSUKE
The benches we donated earlier have created a ripple of change in the Nsuke school community. One of the students, Emmanuella, a bright and determined young girl in Class 4, shared how she used to sit on the dusty floor during lessons. She often returned home with aching legs and struggled to stay focused in class. Since the arrival of the benches, Emmanuella now sits proudly at her desk, raises her hand with confidence, and has even improved her reading score.
In her words:
"Now I feel like a big girl because I have a bench like the children in the city. I want to become a teacher one day so I can help others learn too."
This transformation, captured in the joyful smiles of our students in the image below is why we do what we do.
UPDATED PLANS & ONGOING WORK
Though we have not yet resumed bench production due to a funding gap, we have used this period to:
Assess needs in additional schools across Tombel subdivision that lack seating and sanitation facilities.
Pre-identify carpenters and materials for rapid production and deployment once funding resumes.
Initiate partnerships with local education authorities to build stronger logistics channels.
Prepare the next project phase, focused on constructing 20 toilets in rural schools to address hygiene and health needs.
Internally, we have also invested time in strengthening our impact monitoring and storytelling systems so that we can better share the voices and realities of our communities with supporters like you.
LOOKING AHEAD
We remain committed to our long-term vision:
To provide 1,200 benches to schools in five rural communities.
To improve school attendance and learning outcomes.
To restore dignity to learning environments in underserved areas.
With your support, we can reignite this life-changing work and expand our reach to children who still sit on cold, hard floors to learn.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported this project so far. Your past generosity continues to shape futures today.
Please consider renewing your support so we can produce the next batch of benches and bring comfort to even more classrooms.
Together, let’s keep hope alive.
