New ideas and self-discovery

By Haley Block | Director of Programs

The last term wrapped up successfully with a public speaking competition where girls presented their ideas on "how to be a good friend" and "why girls' education is important" to a panel of elite judges. We were proud to see participants step out of their comfort zone and have fun sharing their unique ideas with others.

Moving forwards, the schools have started Term 2 and during this term we will be focusing on self-awareness and emotional intelligence. The purpose of this term is to help girls gain a deeper understanding of who they are while developing a healthy control over their emotions. This process will build the girls' emotional intelligence, which is instrumental in improving academic, career, and relationshup outcomes. Overall, we have seen that emotional intelligence is a greater predictor of success and happiness that intellectual intelligence.

We are very excited to see how the girls progress suring this term. This will be the first time that they have ever interactedwith such materials and ideas. So far, the first few sessions have found the girls shy in the beginning but bursting with ideas and confidence by the end of the hour. They are excitied about what they are learning and show eagerness to continue discovering more about themsleves.

We thank you for your continued support!
