Teenage mothers often carry two burdens at the same time: the responsibility of raising a child and the judgment of people around them.
Stigma can make young mothers feel isolated, ashamed or excluded from opportunities. Some may withdraw from education and community life. Others may struggle to seek assistance because they fear being judged for their circumstances.
We believe every young mother deserves dignity, encouragement and an opportunity to rebuild.
F SSIBU Mission Foundation works to create supportive pathways for teenage mothers while ensuring their children are not forgotten. Our goal is to help young women move from isolation toward confidence and from dependency toward skills and opportunity.
Through mentorship and psychosocial support, young mothers can be encouraged to understand that motherhood does not eliminate their potential. They can receive guidance on parenting, health, personal development and responsible decision-making while exploring opportunities to return to education or acquire practical livelihood skills.
At the same time, their children require a strong foundation.
A child needs more than food and clothing. Children need affection, stimulation, protection, healthcare awareness and opportunities to learn. Supporting young mothers to become stronger caregivers therefore has a direct influence on the wellbeing of their children.
This is where donor partnership becomes transformational.
Your support can help provide a young mother with access to mentorship or skills training. It can help create supportive spaces where she can rebuild her confidence. It can help provide essential items for her child and strengthen the family environment in which that child is growing.
