This week marks a crucial turning point in supporting teenage mothers, who face the burden of raising a child while still being children themselves. For these young women, menstrual poverty is an often-overlooked crisis. Lacking access to sanitary pads forces many into isolation, using unsafe alternatives like rags, cloth, or even newspaper—risking severe infections while caring for an infant. The shame and discomfort deepen their existing struggles, pushing them further from finishing school or gaining economic independence.
We have officially launched our pad distribution phase tailored for teenage mothers. Across our target communities, hundreds of these young moms will receive free, high-quality sanitary pads. But this initiative is about more than just products. Alongside every pack of pads, we provide essential education on menstrual hygiene management—breaking stigmas, teaching proper usage and disposal, and explaining how poor hygiene can harm both mother and baby. We also offer guidance on family planning and self-care, empowering them to reclaim control over their bodies and futures.
Menstruation should never be an added punishment for teenage mothers. With the right tools and knowledge, these young women will no longer have to choose between their health, their baby’s well-being, and their dignity. We are not just distributing pads; we are restoring self-worth, health, and hope. Let’s keep supporting, teaching, and uplifting them—because every teenage mother deserves to stay healthy, finish her education, and build a better life for herself and her child. Period.
