Restoring the Future for Abandoned Teen Mothers

A child should not inherit the limitations created by poverty, and a young mother should not lose her future because motherhood came earlier than expected.

Across vulnerable communities, teenage mothers can find themselves facing several challenges at once. Leaving school, limited income, lack of parenting support, social stigma and the cost of caring for a young child can make rebuilding a life extremely difficult.

F SSIBU Mission Foundation is committed to helping young mothers and their children move beyond these challenges.

Our approach focuses on strengthening the mother while protecting the wellbeing and development of her child. We believe sustainable change happens when both generations receive meaningful support.

For teenage mothers, this can include mentorship, psychosocial support, life-skills development, vocational opportunities, health awareness, parenting guidance and encouragement to pursue education or productive livelihoods. These interventions can help young women regain confidence and begin making informed decisions about their futures.

For their children, support can help address essential needs while creating opportunities for healthy development and early learning.

This matters because the challenges facing a young mother can easily affect her child. If she has no skills, income or support system, providing consistent care can become extremely difficult. By strengthening her capacity, we can also strengthen the environment in which her child grows.

This is an investment in two lives, not one.
