Case Study: Nabingo Clean Water Well Project — One Donor, One Community, One Lasting Impact

1. Project Overview

The Nabingo Clean Water Well Project demonstrates how individual generosity can help address the challenge of access to clean water in Uganda.

Through Oasis Water and Sanitation Initiative, the damaged Nabingo Spring Well was repaired and restored to improve access to clean water for the surrounding community. The project benefited 1,700 people who depend on this important water source.

2. Donor Contribution

The project was made possible through the generosity of Ber from Northern Ireland, who contributed $1,500, covering the full cost of restoring the community well.

Her contribution enabled Oasis Water and Sanitation Initiative to carry out the restoration work and return this essential water source to community use. Ber’s support demonstrates how one committed donor can make a meaningful difference in the lives of an entire community.

We sincerely thank Ber for believing in our mission and helping us bring clean water closer to the people who need it most.

3. Results and Community Impact

The restoration of the Nabingo Spring Well improved access to water for 1,700 people. A functioning community water source can reduce the burden of water collection, particularly for women and children, while helping families meet their daily water needs.

The project also demonstrates the importance of restoring existing water infrastructure. By repairing a damaged water source, Oasis Water and Sanitation Initiative helped the community regain access to a facility it depends on.

4. Lessons Learned

The Nabingo project demonstrates the potential of individual donor support to finance a complete community water restoration project. It also reinforces the importance of maintaining existing water infrastructure alongside efforts to develop new water sources.

Oasis Water and Sanitation Initiative will continue seeking partnerships with individuals, organizations, and other supporters to restore broken water sources and expand access to clean water in underserved communities.

5. Conclusion and Appreciation

The Nabingo Clean Water Well Project is a powerful reminder that one donor can make a lasting difference.

Through her $1,500 contribution, Ber from Northern Ireland helped fund the restoration of a community well serving 1,700 people. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ber for her generosity and commitment to our mission.

At Oasis Water and Sanitation Initiative, we believe restoring a broken water source is about more than repairing infrastructure. It is about restoring hope, protecting dignity, and helping communities move toward a healthier future.

One donor. One restored well. 1,700 people benefiting. A lasting impact.
