Dear Supporters,

Greetings from STEPS NGO

I am presenting our recent progress report of the program. With your donations we are organizing vision care camps. STEPS NGO organized eye camp in Peddakannali village in Thottambedu Mandal, Andhra Pradesh state, India.

During first week of this month K Sudhakar ,Executive Director of STEPS NGO has participated in the International conference “Aloka Summit 2017: Clear vision for everybody in India” at Bangalore, India. This Aloka Vision Programme is initiated and supported by ZEISS and GIZ, Germany to provide basic services and affordable vision care in rural and slum areas of India. Daniel Sims, Managing director, Carl Zeiss India Pvt, Ltd, Joachim Kuss Communications Director, Zeiss vision Care, Germany, Neilsen De Souza, Director Public health, Brien Holden Vision Institute, Australia, Glob Com 2017 students from different countries  and NGO partners have participated in the conference. In the panel discussion Mr Sudhakar explained the present situation in rural and slums and gave suggestions for the improvement of the existing program.

I am sharing story of the beneficiary who have been benefited through this program with your kind donation. Mrs. R.Subbamma, is 60 years old woman. She belongs to peddakannali village. She got married at a very young age of 10 years. They are poor and depending on their daily earnings. Her husband Mr Krishna Reddy died at the age of 55.Since last year she was suffering with vision problem. At early stage she observed some problem in vision but she ignored it. Her financial condition did not allow her to go to private clinics for consultation.  Gradually with decreasing vision she started facing problems in her day to day work. She came to know STEPS NGO will organize Eye camp in the village. She attended the camp, her vision was checked and she was provided spectacles. After successful vision correction Subbamma is back to her normal life with improved vision. Now she is happy and confident and says “My eye sight improved and I am grateful to the donors who supported for my vision correction”.

The beneficiaries living in slums and villages who have been checked and provided spectacles regained new vision and attending their day today life. I, on behalf of whole group of beneficiaries convey my sincere gratitude to you.

 Thanking You

 With Regards

 K. Sudhakar
