Meet Hania, Franek, and Bartek - three young people who are helping others every day in our The Umbrella Point. Thanks to their work, people in need return home with food. This support lifts a significant burden from their shoulders - the fear of not having enough to eat. It helps them feel cared for and less alone, knowing they have not been left to face their struggles by themselves. Your donation will provide one food parcel for those in need.
Our support lifts a significant burden - the fear of not having enough to eat.It helps those in need feel cared for and less alone, knowing they have not been left to face their struggles by themselves.Hania understands the problem of scarcity very well.In her hometown of Kharkiv,Ukraine,85% of the population was forced to flee because of the war. Those who remained strive to live with dignity despite frequent shortages of water, electricity, and heating, as well as around-the-clock bomb attacks.
The Umbrella Point, located in the Wola district of Warsaw, is a food distribution center serving people in need from Warsaw and the surrounding areas. We also support refugees from Ukraine and other countries. Every day, dozens of people receive real nutritional assistance from us in the form of food parcels containing essential groceries. More than 2,000 people benefit from our support every month.
Among those in need are people with disabilities, individuals experiencing homelessness, large families, refugees, survivors of domestic violence, and unemployed people. We distribute food four times a week. The cost of one food parcel is around 43 PLN = 12 USD. Total goal of 14400 $ will provide 10 food parcels four times a week, until the end of the year 2026.
