"Little by Little Our Dream Has Come True"

Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,

I hope you’re doing well! We’ve been busy over the last few months supporting our local partners in Guatemala to protect and conserve forests. I’m excited to share these updates with you. Your contribution has enabled EcoLogic to:

Secure the protection of 22.5 hectares of mangroves by working with communities in Sarstún, Guatemala to develop a management plan and help them secure long-term lease agreements for their land. Rebecca, a community leader in this project site shared with us, “As a community, we are deeply grateful for the work EcoLogic has done side-by-side with us to achieve this. It is so important to us. We had pursued it on our own unsuccessfully for so many years. Little by little our dream has come true. We hope to continue working hand in hand with you for the benefit of our communities. We’re here to continue moving forward together.”
Continue to advance our commitment to Indigenous youth and the next generation of forest guardians. This past August and September, we carried out four workshops in collaboration with the Creative Action Institute to train 20 teachers and 30 young people in creative advocacy using an arts-based methodology to generate solutions to environmental problems within the territory of Totonicapán.

These are just a few recent highlights of the impact you’ve made possible. As the year-end approaches, we continue to work to meet the goals we’ve set with our partner organizations and respond to the needs that the climate crisis makes more and more urgent each day.
