There is significant pressure on the forests of Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico from deforestation caused by illegal loggers, forest fires, and the advance of the agricultural frontier.
EcoLogic tackles forest loss by placing restoration and conservation in the hands of local communities. Working with Indigenous and municipal authorities such as the 48 Cantones of Totonicapan in Guatemala and MAMUCA in Honduras, EcoLogic provides tools, native seeds, and hands-on training to restore forests and strengthen community-led monitoring. This approach builds lasting local capacity to protect forests well beyond the life of the project.
