Project Update

Dear Partner,

Restoration Project Resource is always grateful for your partnership and support. We cannot do this work without you. Please continue to encourage us with your support and contributions because they motivate us to build resilience even in the face of challenges.

Like we always say, there is strength in numbers. We can accomplish so much and are more effective when we put resources together to bring smiles and hope to individuals who lack the strength to fight after hitting a brick wall and are hopeless. Empowering them to face their challenges head-on through the acquisition of skills and giving them the tools for easy transition is not possible without your support and contribution. This is why we are forever grateful to you.

The following are updates since our May report was posted in June 2022.

Two classes are currently running: Python Essentials and Introduction to Computer/Microsoft Office
Our second job readiness workshop is scheduled for the first week of November.
Two classes will be starting in October: Data Entry and Financial Literacy
Our 2022 Graduation Celebration for all program graduates comes up the third week of December 2022.

As we continue to bring these skills and give tools for socioeconomic empowerment to our community, we face various challenges and need more funding. Areas, where we need funding, are:

Funding support for interpreters. We have turned away a few potential beneficiaries because of language barriers.
Funding or donation of computer systems. Few of our participants went through the excruciating pain of using their cell phones as computers because they were eager to take the courses we offer but did not meet the hardware requirements.
Funding for our internship programs. As part of the curriculum for our Data Entry class, graduates are encouraged to participate in the paid internship program. But their paid employment does not permit them to do this. And because we do not want to deprive them of that income since we cannot augment the income, they have been turning down internship opportunities. These internships give them more skills and tools for better-paying jobs.

We appreciate your support, it means a great deal to us. And our program graduates are always thankful for the opportunities to access our products and service; they are forever grateful because we are changing the trajectory of poverty and financial struggles. By giving them access to skills development, we are not only giving them opportunities to gain wealth, but we are also transforming their lives and impacting their generations. We are open to constructive advice and corrections and are happy to answer your questions or clear any doubts. We also covet your insights to help us do better and become more impactful. Do not forget to leave us words of encouragement, they give our team the push to continue to be selfless. Please feel free to email me!

We Appreciate Your Support!

Dear Partner,

Thank you for making our work at Restoration Project Resource Center impactful. Your partnership encourages us to do our best and bring smiles to the faces of the individuals we serve, and we do not take this for granted. We deeply appreciate your support. Because we cannot do this work without you, we are constantly appealing to you for your continued support. Remember, there is strength in numbers and when a community of individuals and groups with a common cause come together to support their passion. We are successful when you partner with us, and our participants are happy when we give them access to skills and tools that will improve their economic status and also point them to a more stable lifestyle.

Since our last report in January, we have accomplished the following

Three individuals graduated from our Business Coaching class
Two classes are currently running
Four individuals will be starting our paid internship with our business partners next month
Our job readiness series of workshops will take off in mid-July. This will be a monthly workshop to prepare our population and members of our community for jobs, career development, change of career, and how to sustain and maintain their employment.
We have almost concluded our Safety Education Series. This is an online seminar series where we would be providing a platform for conversations around safe space and safety in our community.

Our program participants are constantly expressing their gratitude for the opportunity and access to skills and tools that improve their economic status.

Like we said in the last report, we continue our services even after they graduate from taking our courses. Be it a survivor of human trafficking, domestic violence, refugees and asylees who experienced violence and domestic abuse while they were fleeing their war-torn regions or those who are disenfranchised because of their social status, our goal is to bring them to an unimpaired state, sustainable restoration, and economic empowerment.

Our partners and collaborators help us achieve this goal through their treasure, talent, and time. That is why we are appreciative of you and your support means so much to us. Because we strive to do better, we love your insights, your words of encouragement give our team the strength and courage to go on, and your advice on ways to improve our services is invaluable. Thank You for Your support!

Dear Partner,

Thank you for your continued support towards the work of Restoration Project Resource Center. Your partnership with us encourages us to do our best and bring smiles to the faces of the individuals we serve.

We are glad that you are one of our partners; we want you to know that we appreciate your support. We want you to know that we do not take your generosity and support lightly. That is why we appeal to you for your continued support. We cannot do this work without you. Please know that your financial support enables us to keep experts and professionals in our pool of instructors, interns, and volunteers. ALL our instructors are experts and are PAID. We cannot do this without your financial support!

Here are some success stories that you helped us to achieve. In 2021, we:

Served about forty-six individuals through our skills development program
We added a Web Design course and graduated four individuals
We paid two individuals to take a one-month internship as a continuation of our data entry course to enable them to gain work experience. One of them secured employment afterward.
We trained seven individuals on Python Essential, paid for two of them to take the certification course which they passed (we would pay for anyone who wanted to take their certification exams).
Of the two who passed their PE1 certification exams, one got a full-time position as a Tester.
We hired one of our program graduates as a Program Assistant/Community Liaison
We successfully reached over two hundred community members, advocates, program participants, survivors, law enforcement agents, survivor leaders, and service providers through our webinars and symposiums. This does not include the hundreds that read our newsletters.
In January of 2022, we had a graduation ceremony for our program graduates, to celebrate their success (cannot share pictures for confidentiality).
This year, we have already provided business coaching to seven individuals.
We also added a new class, Python Essentials 2 for those who took PE1 last year.

See below what our program beneficiaries said in their end-of-course survey and follow-ups:

“I really like my class, the teacher didn't let us get discouraged even when the subject was getting difficult”

“The class was well organized. The class was interactive. The class was open to different views from students”

“This is... I have passed the PE1 exam. Please find my invoice and score attached… I am looking for a job as Jr. Software Tester… I will start with a new company from Monday 10th of Jan… it is a full-time job as a Tester”

It cost us money to bring these courses to our individuals and community, especially when we had to contract professors in universities to teach our courses. You will agree with me that money, skills, knowledge, and hard-work go into delivering these services. This year we plan to expand our programs by reaching out to and partnering with consulates that serve immigrants, especially women who have been trafficked and or have experienced domestic abuse. We will repeat more of our classes to give more women and girls access to economic opportunities.

Whether a survivor of human trafficking, domestic violence, refugees and asylees who experienced violence and domestic abuse while they were fleeing their war-torn regions or those who are disenfranchised because of their social status, we follow our program participants through their journey to an unimpaired state, sustainable restoration, and economic empowerment.
