Amidst of the situation now that we experienced like fear, trauma, hunger, poverty and misery left by the super typhoon Basyang that claimed lives and destroyed properties, we suffered a lot. We don't know where to go to find foods and shelter. The scars and suffering left by the typhoon remained our big problems of survival. We will be looking for immediate relief distribution, healing, recovery and restore our farms. We are praying for our fast recovery and restore the denuded ancestral lands
Iligan City and other tribal communities were hit by the Tropical storm Basyang(Penha) that claimed lives, destroyed communities and properties. Iligan City declared state of calamity due to the massive destruction caused by the massive floods from the mountains. The aftermath of the typhoon left trauma and fear for their daily survival. It was sad that after the typhoon, people suffered starvation, thirst, and worries about their shelter and farm being destroyed and there is no foods.
The project will address the problem with the following actions: 1. Distribution of Food packs 2. Distribution of Safe drinking water, Shelter materials, Medicines and hygiene Kits 3. Growing fast cash crops for the short income generating project
The project will give potential long term impact of the typhoon affected tribal communities through the cash crops growing to provide income generating project to fight hunger while it is the time of recovery.
