We are so grateful to all those who donated to this project! We are off to a great start developing our device to meet the needs of the local community. We have been able to curate audiobooks, digital books and custom videos. Our partners were very interested in increasing access to books. Our device holds over 650 nonfiction and fiction books, 15 textbooks on a variety of subjects to assist teachers, 40 audiobooks for 2-5 year olds and over 50 podcasts for middle and high school students.
The early stage of the device has been successful and another partner on the ground in Kenya has reached out to use the device and amplify its impact in the refugee camp. The great benefit of this device is that it can provide access to education resources for thousands of individuals over time. We are learning how to improve our offline digital library and make it more sustainable for development and improve content and durability. Did you know that some countries have embargos on batteries? We didn't either. Every project teaches us something new and improves our design and outcomes. Thank you for helping us on this journey!
We believe our device has the potential to transform education in remote locations as users can download content to smart devices via the internal wi-fi of the device; or, for those lacking smart devices, our embedded projector allows teachers & community orgs to share files and videos with individuals or groups on demand. No internet needed! We could not find success without you. Thank you for all you do to help Teach by Tech grow and increase access to education around the world!
Warm regards,
Linnie Pawlek
