ACHI 2017 Medical mission Report

ACHI has concluded its 2017 medical outreach in the following communities- Avutu Obawo, Amakaohia village in Ihitte Uboma and Umugolo village in Ehime Mbano LGA, all in Imo state. The deplorable health continues in these rural areas continues to be a great concern. The lack of health care access to the poor in the country is getting worse as a result of bad economy. The none payment of salaries, pensions to the retires and unemployment has worsened the health of the population. Medical care and availability is dependent on one’s ability to pay for the service before it is rendered, and this has sent a lot of individuals to their early grave. The ones with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension cannot afford their medications or regular doctors visit for continuity of care. There is notable increase in the rate of hopelessness and helplessness on the faces of people. People were fighting to make sure they will be among the number that will get medical attention and medications during the program, because not everyone will be seen due to limited resources. Both Diabetes and Hypertension are on the rise and these individuals in the rural villages CANNOT AFFORD THE NEEDED MEDICATIONS. We are anticipating a great increase in the number of people that will show up for the monthly maintenance program. Nigerians living in the rural areas need help and we as an organization needs more help to continue this mission. We are thanking all of you for your continued help through the years to help in sustaining this program. Your help is needed more because the need is increasing, and more resources needed to sustain the people and the program. Thank you for your care and for your donations
