Challenge

In the Philippines, especially in communities where homes are lost to disasters every year, rebuilding is often a race against the next storm. A week after Typhoon Tino damaged 274,000 houses in November 2025, Super Typhoon Uwan hit the country affecting 7.6M people and leaving over 303,000 in evacuation centers. Without affordable, resilient housing solutions, communities remain highly vulnerable, risking repeated loss and prolonged displacement.

Solution

The project uses an innovative financing model to unlock affordable loans for disaster-resilient housing. Families receive training in safe construction and access to quality materials, enabling them to rebuild before disasters strike. By combining financial inclusion with resilience-building, the model shifts recovery toward proactive preparedness.

Long-Term Impact

Every contribution powers a fund that turns hope into action, financing safer homes and providing Build Back Safer training for lasting resilience. Communities become better prepared for future storms, and grow stronger over time as women borrowers gain confidence, build credit, and unlock opportunities for livelihoods and small enterprises, driving lasting change that helps families and entire communities thrive.
