Research for the Future of Children with Cancer

Summary

Although four out of five children with cancer in Switzerland can be cured, one child loses the battle against this insidious disease practically every week. With the help of donors, the Swiss Cancer Research Foundation is committed to making further important advances in cancer treatment so that more children with cancer can have a future despite their illness.

Challenge

Children with cancer require specialized research and special commitment. Many cancer therapies target rapidly dividing cells. Since children's bodies are still growing, they are particularly sensitive to these therapies. Many children suffer from long-term effects. Furthermore, cancer is rare in children. For a study to produce meaningful results, it must include a sufficient number of children. This requires cross-national studies and a high level of commitment from researchers.

Solution

With your support, we can fund promising cancer research projects aimed at improving treatment options and the quality of life for children with cancer. This is important because childhood cancer is "rare" and therefore not financially worthwhile for major pharmaceutical companies.

Long-Term Impact

Your donation will significantly contribute to continuous progress in cancer research and help more people survive cancer. Thank you for giving children with cancer a future.
