Greeting, and thank you again for your support of The Rooster Project at VINE Sanctuary!
As you may recall, the project has two main goals: (1) increasing the number of homes for roosters at VINE Sanctuary and other sanctuaries; and (2) working to end the two primary reasons that so many roosters need refuge: cockfighting and backyard hen-keeping.
Past updates have focused on roosters here at VINE and on our work helping other sanctuaries to expand their capacity to offer refuge to roosters. Today, I am happy to announce a development that will significantly enhance our ability to advocate for roosters nationally.
Later this month, a new staff member who is skilled in project management and volunteer will be joining the VINE team, and one of the things she'll be doing is finding new ways for volunteers across the country to advocate for roosters and against both cockfighting and backyard hen-keeping.
If you might have time to volunteer for this or other VINE projects in the coming year, sign up here, and you will receive periodic announcements of volunteer opportunities for The Rooster Project and other animal advocacy efforts of VINE Sanctuary.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
pattrice
