Greetings, and THANK YOU for your support of The Rooster Project!

In case you didnt yet see VINE's 2023 Year in Review, I've attached it below. You can also see it online here. Last year, we rehabilitated scores of former fighting roosters rescued late in 2022 and also arranged for the placement of even more roosters rescued from cockfighting at other sanctuaries.

This year, we've got big plans, and we need volunteers to help with some of them.

Here's what's coming up for The Rooster Project this year:

The new VINE Press wiill publish The Rooster Book, which combines a handbook on rooster care and peacekeeping for sanctuaries with information about roosters for the general public.

On International Respect for Chickens Day (May 4), we will present a virtual workshop on myths and facts about roosters. We'll be sure to share the link with you before the event!

We will expand the rooster page on the VINE website to a stand-alone website with resources for sanctuaries and the general public.

We will delve more deeply into the roots of rooster homelessness by launching new initiatives concerning both cockfighting and backyard hen keeping.

We need volunteers to help with that last one. You can learn about that, and other remote volunteering opportunities here.
