Rescue Endangered Species of Turtles Indian Ocean

Summary

Our project focuses on Indian Ocean saving, treating, and returning injured and stranded sea turtles back to their natural habitat as part of our marine conservation efforts. With the assistance of local organizations and dedicated volunteers along the Indian Ocean coastline, many sea turtles have been protected, cared for, and successfully released into the ocean. Green Sea Turtles and Hawksbill turtles are among the most common species found nesting along the coast near Mafia Island and Rufiji

Challenge

Ocean pollution continues to increase the number of sea turtles requiring urgent rescue and rehabilitation services. Our team works closely with local communities to raise awareness and educate people on the importance of not returning stranded turtles directly into the sea, as many are too weak to survive without treatment. We also support a local emergency response team that rescues turtles trapped in fishing nets, entangled in plastic waste, or suffering from injuries caused by marine polluti

Solution

Our experienced rescue team responds quickly to stranded sea turtles found along the African coastline. Most rescue cases involve loggerhead and leatherback turtles, although our rehabilitation centre also provides treatment for green, olive ridley, and hawksbill turtles in distress. After receiving proper medical care, nutrition, and rehabilitation, the turtles are safely released back into the ocean to continue their natural life cycle

Long-Term Impact

This project aims to reduce sea turtle extinction caused by pollution and harmful human activities in the ocean. Through rescue operations, rehabilitation, and public education, we are helping to protect vulnerable sea turtle populations for future generations. Our long-term vision is to strengthen marine conservation efforts and prevent these incredible species from becoming endangered or extinct. Cleaner oceans will create safer habitats for marine life.
