Hi Everyone!
We wanted to tell you about one of our recent special needs rescues. Bugsy was brought into our local animal shelter as a five month old stray. Apparently he had big bug eyes and was named Bugsy by the shelter staff. As if being brought to animal control and being named Bugsy wasn't traumatizing enough, he also had a broken hind leg. Kitties with special needs (illness, pregnant, ill, scared, feral, etc.) are usually the first to be euthanized at city shelters if a rescue organization does not step up to take the kitty in. These kitties are not made available to the general public to adopt.
Thankfully we were able to rescue Bugsy and take him to our vet for immediate assistance. Our vet recommended amputation as the best option for his broken leg so that is what we did. He also got neutered, vaccinated, dewormed & deflead. Today Bugsy is about nine months old and is doing great! He loves talking to his foster Mom and playing with toys or anything he thinks is a toy. Even though he only has three legs, that doesn't slow him down from zooming throughout the house or climbing the cat tree. Bugsy is ready for a home of his own if you know of anyone looking for a one of a kind 3 legged kitty.
We are very thankful for your support which allows us to help kitties like Bugsy. Thank you!
