At our charitable children’s institution, we hold in the highest regard every child entrusted to our care. Many of these young souls have faced harrowing pasts, and some have even known the heartbreak of neglect by their biological parents. Often, socioeconomic factors, unwanted pregnancies, and the scourge of drug abuse lie at the root of these issues. Regardless of their backgrounds, we approach each child with unwavering love, tenderness, and an unrelenting dedication to providing them with the best possible care.
Our dedicated team of social workers conduct thorough background checks on the children and works diligently to locate any existing relatives. With the invaluable collaboration of the Police Department, the court, and the Children’s Office, we facilitate reunifications whenever possible. For those children without any existing relatives, we wholeheartedly embrace adoption, ensuring that each child finds a place of belonging and hope.
Our Home remains the institution of choice when it comes to providing refuge for abandoned babies and toddlers. This year, our efforts have been particularly busy with numerous adoptions and the successful reintegration of children with their families.
Baby Rafael (2 ½ years old) became a part of our family at the beginning of the year. Abandoned and rescued by compassionate passers-by, we joined forces with the police, the Children’s Department, and our social workers to identify his family. Today, he is happily reunited with his grandmother and is bonding beautifully with his sibling. We wish him a lifetime filled with happiness and success.
Baby Sam was welcomed into our loving family earlier this year. Despite being physically challenged, his mother was unable to provide for him. Sam was temporarily placed under our care during a human-trafficking investigation, and through collaboration with the justice department, his biological parents were traced, and the reunion process commenced. Sam is now back with his family, where he is warmly embraced. Witnessing the joy these reunions bring to these children is what makes our mission all the more meaningful.
Baby Boi (1 year) and Njeri (2 years 7 months) represent one of our most recent success stories in reintegration. Their biological mother experienced mental health challenges and financial limitations made their care impossible. The police stepped in to rescue these two siblings and brought them into our care. After investigations and medical assessments, they were successfully reunited with their grandfather and uncles. They are currently thriving in their new family environment.
Baby Dorcus, who was found abandoned on a rubbish heap as a newborn, joined our Home and has now been adopted by a single mother who had longed for a child. Their bond is strong, and Dorcus has seamlessly adjusted to her new life. Our post-adoption visits confirm that their journey together is proceeding smoothly. Though it’s never easy to say goodbye to these children, the smiles on their faces afterward give profound meaning to our mission.
Baby Rita (now 6 years old) recently completed a successful adoption process. Despite a traumatic past, Rita has always displayed remarkable resilience. She arrived at our Home at a very young age, and with our care, she has blossomed into a healthy child. Although she initially experienced delayed speech, her progress is evident. Rita has found a loving home with a couple eager to provide her with a stable family life. This adoption was a joyous occasion for both the parents and our Home, and we are delighted to report that she is thriving in her new environment.
Our commitment to reintegration continues, and we are in the process of formalizing the reunification of several more children. Among them:
Hamza, who was abandoned as a toddler, is set to be reunited with his uncle, a dedicated government official.
Baby Saumu, who was abandoned prematurely, will soon be reunited with her father. With the help of occupational therapy sessions, Saumu has made impressive strides, regaining strength in her limbs and mastering the art of walking and running. We take great pride in her accomplishments.
Linda, a teenager who was abandoned as a toddler, has reconnected with her biological father. Her visits to her homeland have strengthened their bond, and her family’s love is a source of happiness that grows with each passing day.
At our institution, we remain committed to the well-being of these remarkable children and the vital mission of reuniting them with their families whenever possible. It is through our collective dedication that we bring hope and new beginnings to these young lives.
