CIWY honored by Senate; 3 pumitas doing well

By Jenny Boyd | FIWY Development Director

The Senate recognizes CIWY's 30 years of work

Dear Supporters,

We are happy to share that CIWY received a very special recognition recently: a Chamber Declaration of the Senate of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia, at the initiative of Senator Cecilia Requena, for CIWY's 30 years of work. This recognition establishes "public honors to those who deserve it for eminent services to the State."

We were filled with emotion to learn that said recognition was UNANIMOUSLY approved in the Assembly and that our work has echoed positively among all the representatives of Bolivia, without political or regional distinction.

We are very grateful that CIWY’s efforts towards the conservation of species and the care of wild animals rescued from illegal trafficking are recognized. This helps give us strength to continue on this path, which honestly feels like an uphill battle most of the time.

 ...

We want to thank everyone who contributed towards the new management enclosures for the three pumitas at Ambue Ari. The enclosures have been completed and the pumitas are doing great. The two males, Frey and Naoki, are now enjoying the opportunity to walk in the jungle. Nena prefers to stay in the main enclosure, but we hope that she will eventually become comfortable with going out.

Thank you for everything you do to support CIWY's work. All the best,

The CIWY and FIWY teams

PS. Stay tuned for the "Little by Little" Matching Campaign: April 3-7. We're planning a final push to complete the much-needed renovation of the Ambe Ari comedor!
