In Colombia, bullfighting will be formally banned in July 2027. While this represents a victory for animals, it has also left many Spanish fighting bulls and cows vulnerable to hunger, neglect, and abandonment - with some already discarded to slaughterhouses. As the ban deadline approaches, hundreds more face growing risk. The crisis is also unfolding in Mexico: local restrictions are creating similar challenges. In Spain, the decline of bullfighting audiences is exacerbating this problem there.
