Restoring child into family and community

Family reunification in remote mountain village
Family reunification in remote mountain village
She was forcefully married at the age of 12 years. It was the start of her traumatic life every day. Abused sexually, physically and emotionally. Since then she never felt being loved by anyone. In over a year, she flees the in-laws but did not dare to go back to her parents. It was life risk. So she came to Kathmandu and worked in a restaurant for 2 years, washing dishes and cleaning the tables. One day she heard of her mother's sudden death, (she was actually severely beaten to death by her drunkard husband.) She feared to go back, but decided she should go. At least for her two younger sisters, one is visually impaired. She found the pathetic condition of her sisters who had almost nothing to eat unless one of the neighbor offered. No school. No care. No clothes. She decided to stay-back for her sisters inspite of social stigma, hatred and isolation. She was accused of bad fate including the cause for death mother's death. No one spoke to her. She was scared for next day because it will add a day of abuse to her. She tried to stand strong for her sisters until one day she collapsed down. Herself and her sisters were at the risk of abuse (actually she was abused). She decided to leave home with one sister, living back the visually impaired one. Someone from village promised her good job in Kathmandu. Luckily, she was rescued before she ended up in another abusive situation. She is now safe in Global Family's care. "Now I have hope and feels I have life", says she.
Currently she has been going through counseling and trauma therapies. Our staffs work hard to help because "Every life is precious and deserves love and care".

In this quarter, 4 children were reintegrated into their families.
