Bethany's mission is 'to prevent, rescue and care of oppressed and abandoned children within the context of family. Bethany has been playing a key role to support goverrnment for its new policy on 'family reunificaiton' of children. Unlike previous approach of insittutional care (eg children's homes), our focus in keeping children safe in family or family like care. In our heart is that 'Every child in a loving, caring and stable family'.
Bethany provides transitional care, necessities of chidlren and their family reunification for the chidlren rescued National Center for Children at Risk (NCCR). NCCR is government's unit that rescues children who are victims of trafficking, abuse, neglect or other forms of exploitation.
In last quarter, Bethany has reunified 8 girls into their family, kinship or in foster care.
Reintegration is a complete service until a child is placed in a permanent family. Our social workers undertake family assessment, remote and physical reconnection, reunification and post reunificaiton support.
Purnima (11 yrs) old girl is reunified with her family in February 2021. Though her parents were unfit for taking care of the child, after almost a year of assessment, it was found that she could be placed with her brother and sister in law. She comes from a village in mountain of Nuwakot district. With Bethany's support, she is admitted in local school at grade 4. She will receive continious support from our social workers.
