Challenge

Afghanistan is facing a severe education crisis for Women and Girls. Since 2022, girls have been excluded from secondary education, and since December 2022, women have also barred from universities. Poverty, displacement, limited mobility, and lack of safe educational opportunities further deepen these barriers. Yet Afghan Women and Girls continue to seek education and build their futures. Digital learning offers a safe, flexible pathway to keep their hopes and education alive.

Solution

SDOFW will create a safe and flexible digital learning pathway for Afghan women and girls who are excluded from formal education. Through online literacy and school education, digital skills training, live and recorded lessons, learning materials, and qualified female teachers, participants can continue learning from safe locations. The project will help Afghan women and girls continue their education, gain digital and academic skills, and build confidence and independence. By creating safe and flexible learning opportunities, SDOFW will help reduce educational exclusion and support a more educated, skilled, empowered, and resilient generation of Afghan women and girls who can contribute positively to their families and communities.
