We are thrilled to share with you the remarkable journey of Ilma, a brave and determined young girl whose life has been transformed through the dedicated efforts of the our team.
As sometimes, a small intervention can have a profound impact on a child's life. A brave young girl who ran away from her house due to teenage issues but found hope and a path to success at Salaam Baalak Trust.
When Ilma left her home, her future seemed uncertain and her circumstances dire. However, thanks to the timely intervention of the Child Welfare Committee, she was placed in the Udaan home, which provided her with a safe and nurturing environment. Although her house was later traced near
Ghaziabad, Ilma made a courageous decision to not return. The conditions there were challenging, and she recognized that she needed better opportunities to secure a brighter future. Driven by determination and a thirst for knowledge, Ilma was motivated by our team to continue her studies through distance learning. She aimed to complete her 10th grade education, knowing that education would be her key to unlocking a better life. In parallel, Our team enrolled her in a vocational training program in hotel care management, which opened doors to new possibilities.
Ilma's hard work and dedication paid off when she secured a job as a room attendant at the prestigious ITC Maurya hotel. This achievement marked a significant turning point in her life. Not only did she become financially independent, but she also gained valuable experience and exposure to the hospitality industry.
While working at ITC Maurya, Ilma didn't let her educational aspirations fade away. She continued her studies and is currently pursuing her 12th grade education through distance learning. This determination to expand her knowledge and skills demonstrates her unwavering commitment to personal
growth and self-improvement.
Beyond her own success, Ilma's story is also one of resilience and responsibility. Despite her challenging circumstances, she takes it upon herself to support her mother and three siblings financially. Ilma has become a pillar of strength for her family, showcasing her maturity and selflessness.
