This project supports reproductive health for girls and women in Nairobi and two rural towns. We offer free counselling, screening, pregnancy care and general medical care. We work together with local partners, train our partners and pay for the treatment of our needy patients. By supporting girls and women we stabilize the society and offer sustainable support according to the SDGs 1,3,5,10,17 by the UN.
Needy girls and women can not pay for counselling, family planning and antenatal care in poor parts of Nairobi and in rural areas. They suffer from infections, early pregnancies and are lacking antenatal care. That leads to a high number of unwanted pregnancies leading to lack of education and poverty. Lack of pregnancy care leads to the horrible figure of 6000 women dying yearly in Kenya from childbirth.
We counsel girls and provide menstrual hygiene products to enable them to go to school during their menstruation. We offer counselling to prevent infections and unwanted pregnancies. We provide antenatal care to recognize pregnancy complications and offer treatment if they arise. We help women to stay healthy during their wanted pregnancies and so we support the whole family.
We will reduce the long term harmful effects of preventable infections, the long term poverty of unwanted pregnancies and reduce the fatality rate of preventable pregnancy complications.
