This project will Protect 5 hectares of naturally regenerated habitat for rare Daintree species and enable the restoration of 25 hectares of ex-sugarcane land, once ancient rainforest. It will launch a new era of restoration at the Gateway to the World's oldest rainforest, providing space for 200,000 native trees to thrive. This site is perfect for replanting rainforest, one seedling at a time, and preserving vital ecosystems for future generations.
The Daintree Rainforest faces severe threats from lost habitat, fragmented ecosystems, and climate disruption. 110 Cape Tribulation Rd, a degraded, abandoned sugarcane farm, lacks the biodiversity and habitat needed to sustain the rare and threatened wildlife of the region. Without restoration, this property will remain lifeless, providing no benefit to endangered species like the Southern Cassowary or to the critical ecosystems of the Daintree.
This project will transform 110 Cape Tribulation Rd into a thriving rainforest by protecting 5 hectares of naturally reestablished habitat and by planting 25 hectares with native species that support biodiversity, provide food and habitat for wildlife, and sequester carbon, helping mitigate the climate crisis. By creating habitat corridors, and leveraging our nursery's resources, we will reconnect ecosystems, support endangered species, and strengthen the resilience of the Daintree Rainforest.
Restoring 110 Cape Tribulation Rd will create a thriving ecosystem, reconnecting vital rainforest habitats and supporting endangered species. This will inspire future reforestation, foster ecotourism and research opportunities, and combat climate change through carbon sequestration. The project will also serve as a model for how restoration can benefit wildlife, communities, and the planet for generations to come, serving as an inspiration for others with land to restore and habitat to protect.
