Currently, 3,673 students across three schools struggle in an environment without proper sanitation and hygiene services. They face dirty, unsafe toilets, lack of privacy, and limited water access, which harm their health, attendance, and overall well-being. Despite government efforts to improve sanitation, the problem persists. Renovating school toilets will create a clean, safe learning space, reduce WASH-related diseases, and boost student retention and enrollment. Help make a difference!
This project will create a safe and healthy learning environment, improving retention, performance, and academic success for students in Iringa. By ensuring access to proper sanitation and hygiene facilities, it will reduce waterborne diseases caused by poor conditions. Additionally, 3,673 students will receive WASH training, equipping them to share knowledge with their peers and the wider community, amplifying the impact and fostering healthier practices beyond the schools.
This project will have a transformative long-term impact, saving the lives of 3,673 children (2,058 girls and 1,615 boys) by creating a safer and healthier learning environment. It will boost enrollment, improve retention, and enhance academic success for both boys and girls. Additionally, by reducing illnesses caused by poor hygiene and sanitation, it will save families time and money spent on healthcare, fostering a brighter and healthier future for these students and their communities.
