In the city of Ferrara, IBO Italia is renovating and equipping a training centre where to promote international solidarity and train at least 2.000 young people per year to voluntary projects locally and abroad. The new centre will be implemented in an ancient historical building granted to IBO Italia by the Municipality of Ferrara and it will have different spaces for meetings, non formal activities and accomodation.
In a world where cultural clash is spreading, IBO Italia propose the mutual encounter. IBO aims to prepare young people to meet peers and local communities from and in other countries in order to build together a fair society. As young people are used to communicate through social media, they even less appreciate the value of sharing experiences and doing things together.
In the new training centre, IBO's local staff will train young people to become global citizens through volunteering in their local community or abroad, donating their time and their talents for the others. In order to pursue this objective, IBO needs to renovate and equip an historical 800 square meters house where to set up rooms, offices and services fro the activities of managing, welcoming, selection and training of almost 2.000 people every year.
Almost 2.000 young people will be yearly involved in development education, rainsing awareness campaigns and volunteering projects. They will reinforce their role as global citizens and their values of solidarity, sharing and open-mindness towards other cultures. These values will contribute to their personal growth and to their future lifes as citizens, parents and public decisors, with a positive impact and benefits for the whole community.
