Happy Thanksgiving!
This holiday season, we reflect on what we are most thankful for – and you are at the top of our list!
But don't just listen to me, Nusha and Zenun of Kosovo wanted to share their gratitude as well.
Nusha is a 75-year-old mother of five sons and three daughters, and a grandmother of 23 children in Kosovo. Nusha survived the Kosovo war, and is grateful that The HALO Trust is making the land where her family lives safe once again. Once the land surrounding their village is cleared and safe, it will be used for tourism, grazing and foraging.
Nusha is especially excited to be able to collect blueberries on the newly cleared land, saying, "I could collect ten kilograms of blueberries all by myself. I go very close to the mined area...and after HALO ensures us that it’s safe to move beyond, I can go even further.”
Zenun wanted to thank you himself for all of your support: “When you do good to people, you get rewarded. Thank you for getting mines out and saving people’s lives. Thanks to The HALO Trust we are witnessing the feeling of safety.”
Thank you for making Kosovo a safer place to live and raise a family. We are so grateful to have you in our global network of supporters and advocates. We couldn’t do our lifesaving work without you!
Have a great holiday!
