Remedial Education for Children in Slums

A grand Christmas celebration was organized for the children. Children engaged in various party games and performed various cultural programmes. The children were excited to showcase their talents during the event. The most anticipated part was "Secret Santa," where the children exchanged gifts that were mostly handmade. Every child put their maximum effort into making their gift special. A Christmas cake was also cut and distributed among the children, and this elevated their celebration mood. The break from studies and a chance to create memories drew the children's hearts close to the center.

The children from the urban slum have been benefiting from the remedial education programme provided to them so far. Their grades have improved, and they have also developed discipline and a sense of responsibility. Children always like to play and enjoy. Children were eager to know when the Christmas celebration will be held as they've never got a chance to celebrate it with their friends as they were also left discriminated from the rest. The Christmas celebration at the Edu Center gave the children a marvellous opportunity to create memories and celebrate the time of the year with their friends and loving teachers.  

Change starts at Childhood. These changes later define who he/she becomes in life. The importance of education cannot be overestimated, as it is the key to a bright and successful future. At the Don Bosco Nivas, it is our firm belief that all children deserve a chance to get a quality education, as it is the best way for them to realize their true potential.

Fun learning is an integral part of education. Fun learning provides different perspectives for solving problems and helps children think outside the box. It also enhances their interests, persistence and discipline. For this, the teaching staff identifies different ways in which the children can learn and stay focused till the very end of learning. Learning science through stories was one such method where the teacher taught stories instead of regular classes which made the children attentive and enthusiastic.

Children are the future of our nation and no matter where they come from, every child must have access to inclusive and equitable quality education. Our focus is to provide children with the opportunity to learn and develop, so they can grow up to be an integral and healthy part of their communities.
