2020 has been a challenging year. So many people have been sick, lost loved ones, jobs, and livelihoods. But how much more impact has this year had on those who were already on the brink of poverty and disease throughout the world? Please help us relieve the impact of COVID 19 on our patients in Nepal. In the Spring, like every country around the world, Nepal was hit hard by the Coronavirus. The country went into lock down and it was difficult for many people to return to their home villages. Without business of any kind or a tourist economy that they depend on, how will families be supported during this crises? There is no unemployment or welfare in Nepal. Now that the country has reopened, we wish to continue sending volunteers to treat our patients who are in need, even more than before.
We have volunteers who are ready and willing to journey to Nepal to help our patients who suffer from all types of illnesses including diabetes, stroke, high blood-pressure, chronic pain, digestive and lung disease. If we can help these people to recover from illness, we are one step closer to helping them rebuild their lives. We all need support during a time of illness, and our patients in Nepal need it even more than before.
Currently we are working in a clinic outside the Kathmandu valley and employing a local acupuncturist. Our volunteers bring much needed supplies to the clinic as well as expertise in treating patients with debilitating disease. As our local practitioner learns more and more about this medicine, she will soon be able to work independently in her area, thus spreading the effect of our work and your impact, across great distances.
