The Society for Minors’ Protection and Development (SMPD), located in Mirpurkhas, Sindh, is committed to enhancing the lives of vulnerable communities. With a focus on gender equality, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and disaster response, SMPD empowers women and marginalized groups through various initiatives. The WASH program improves access to clean water and sanitation in rural areas, while disaster response efforts provide emergency relief during natural calamities. SMPD also emphasizes youth and children’s development, offering education and skill-building opportunities. The organization operates under three main themes: Climate Action, Democracy, and Peace Building. Weekly climate action sessions enhance staff capacity to engage communities. SMPD promotes tree plantation and collaborates with the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) to foster democratic values. Additionally, peace-building sessions for youth address drug awareness and entrepreneurship, contributing to a more resilient community. SMPD strives for sustainable development and social justice in the region through these efforts.
