Millions of people have been affected and are highly vulnerable to severe flooding in the Southern part of Bangladesh. Recent flash floods in Feni, Comilla, Noakhali and Lakshmipur have killed thousands of people and have swept away livestock, properties, and valuables worth billions of Takas. Donations will provide immediate relief to survivors in the form of supplies (food, shelter, water, and medicine) in addition to long-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.
In 2024, Bangladesh's floods impacted 5.13 million people, with severe inundations in northern districts. The UN reported widespread damage, affecting 1.5 million children and forcing over 12,000 evacuations. The government and World Bank are coordinating relief efforts, but damaged infrastructure and poor embankment maintenance remain critical challenges.
PATHWAY will primarily focus on meeting the immediate needs of the affected population including dry food, drinking water, medicine, and dignity kits. Additionally, we aim to provide long-term rehabilitation support to restore income generation activities of the survivors.
PATHWAY Bangladesh will provide long-term support to survivors and communities of natural disasters like these floods. The local Volunteer team will be prepared to help people in need and awareness programs in affected areas. Donors will report about the funds utilized through reports and pictures.
