Emergency Relief Packages to 4,750 Greek Families

The new demands for help we receive every day from families in need with young children are scary. Unemployment is increasing fast in Greece. All companies, even the multinationals ones, don’t have any more the capacity they use to have to cover through donations in products the quantities we need to full feel the needs of unemployed families and kids in hanger.

Your donations are more important than ever. We warmly thank you for supporting all efforts we make to give food and all essential to cover the basic needs of young children.

Through your donations to the “Kid & Family” NGO in Greece, we were able to distribute “emergency relief packages” to one thousand eight hundred (1.800) young childrenranging in ages from 0 to 9 years old, received emergency relief packages with products related to: food, personal hygiene, clothing items, shoes as well as essential medicines.

Because of your donations and support, the last two months we were able to cover the needs of 1.800 children instead of 688 we covered three months ago. This miracle happened, against all odds because you are on our site.

OUR EFFORTS FOR A “EDUCATIONAL AND NUTRITION CENTER” FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES

In purpose to eliminate the cost of oil of our distributions and to cover the needs of a bigger number of children in need, instead, we are trying hard to reconstruct a building donated from one of our volunteers. We try to transform this building next to our warehouse in the center of Athens, to a center for nutrition and care for kids and families in Athens.

So we keep on delivering our “emergency relief packages” all over Greece as far as in all long way distances in Attica, but we decided to transform a 200m2 building offered us in “Omonia” square. We are almost ready to start distributions in this building. We still don’t have electricity and all installations needed, but we ll be able at list giving “packages” with products during the day. We will soon post a new project for this purpose, as the situation of the building needs a lot of work to function as a safe place for kids. We already used a small amount of your donations for cleaning, disinfection and painting, we gave all of our heart, work and efforts and our volunteer’s team achieved to transformed the abandoned building to a clean space where we are already able to prepare and distribute more packages. We spend 1.200 euros for this purpose already and we saved for the last 2 months 4.000 euros for oil. This way we experienced the miracle of saving the life of 1.800 more children due to your crucial help.

We strongly hope that with your continued action we will be able to finish all works needed in our new center, so that the high number of 11.000 children who ask for your help.
