"KID & FAMILY" NGO is so thankful for your donations, which enabled us to provide new essentials to children in need throughout Greece.
With your support, Kid & Family continues to touch the lives of thousands of children all over the country.
The new school year 2014-2015 has started. Your donations for the June to September period gave to 76 children food for one month and all school equipment needed for the new school year. Unfortunately we are in a very crucial point of supporting hundreds of children left without our packages this month. Donations are extremely important so that "emergency relief packages" arrive to all families and kids in need we take care of, especially in this period that schools are open and hundreds of kids of unemployed families are forced to stop their studies when parents are not able anymore to pay for the slightest equipment, books, transport tickets, when even the basic food for their kids is not guaranteed. (There are no school meals in Greece!!! ). We try hard to help children keep on attending their school classes.
Unemployment rises so fast in Greece that the companies which used to donate us products, can’t afford anymore to donate the quantities of products needed to cover even the families we already take care of. We have to run all over Greece, looking for products. Olive oil and milk are scarce. This year the production of olive oil was extremely low in the country! Thus, all of your donations paid for all the quantities of these basic alimentation products, oil and milk, as far as school bags, note books, books, etc.
We are no longer able to pay even the insurance of mini vans we use to distribute our "Relief Packages" to the families in need and we are forced to distribute in the streets this month. Next month with the winter coming this will be impossible! So we urge you to talk to your friends, families, collegues about this difficult situation we experience, so that we gain next month the opportunity to distribute to all families as we did in the past.
Every donation allows us to reach in-need children nationwide.
We would not be able to get these wonderful donations to some of the neediest children in the country without your support. Thank you so much for your care. We look forward to reaching more children in need next month, and we cannot do it without your support.
