It has been over five years now since Kid & Family initiated distributions of emergency relief packages to families in need with young children. In this way we have been able to contribute to nutrition and health care services in response to the Crisis we are experiencing in Greece. You are one of over 314 Global Giving donors who, so far, have kindly supported our emergency work. Between you, nearly $12,163 has been raised toward the open target of $25,000. So in this holiday season of thanks we would like to share with you what your generosity has helped us to accomplish in concrete terms.
Five year old Marios was referred to a Kid & Family center after being diagnosed as severely malnourished.
Marios’s parents were unemployed from 2010 due to the economic crisis in Greece. The drought hit the family hard, as they lost their house and Marios’s mother died of tuberculosis. His father was concerned that Marios’ life was also in danger. He asked for help. Marios and his elder sisters are currently safe. Each week they receive at home enough food to cover the whole family\s needs as well as equipment for school and health care. The kids have not been infected with tuberculosis. All vaccinations for hepatitis have been given.
Thank you for your support!
