Dear friends,
We’d like to express our sincere gratitude to donors who are always supportive and follow the stories of our IDPs in Ukraine. During passed three months we held painting master classes and philological trainings, regular meetings and individual counceling with our beneficiaries.
Our project attracts more and more new partners and people of good will who give their sincere support. One of them is pizzeria "Vesuvio", located in the shopping center "Global", and its owner Oksana who opened its doors to us. The master class in pizzeria was exciting and effective and children were pleased to learn new practices of applying acrylic on canvas. Children talked a lot and shared their impressions. After the master class all the participants were treated with a delicious pizza by the pizzeria owner!
We called our report “Amazing courage and deep heart!“ because we met Alyona and Nadezhda families whose stories moved our hearts and we are proud to introduce to you people whom you directly support.
Alyona’s story became known to most Ukrainians after it was published in newspaper “Fakty”. Alyona adapted three kids from shelter with many mental and physical disorders in 2014 and right after that war began and they had to flee to Kyiv. In Kyiv Alyona found her second half who became not only a caring and loving husband but a good father to the kids.
Nadezhda’s family's house was bombed in 2014. Her son Rostislav was not going to school since it was already destroyed. They had to flee to Kyiv with 8$ in their pocket. Strangers were helping them on the way. When they arrived to Kyiv they could stay in one room of their friends apartment. Without any blankets, having no money, they just were receiving food supplies from donors. One month later Nadazhda could get a job but salary was just enough to cover rent and utility fees. Grandmother also moved to live together with them.
WFWP is happy to support these families and grateful for all the caring people who are willing to help others!
