A new school year has begun. This is a very difficult time for both children and their parents, due to quarantine measures and a new way of life. Some children have switched to online education, some have moved to new schools. Children do not just adapt to the new system, they often withdraw into themselves and are forced to limit their social circle, observing quarantine.
In this regard, in a number of schools where IDP children study, WFWP has carried out a number of environmental projects to green the school territory. By planting trees, rose bushes and other plants, children and adults could discharge emotionally, make acquaintances and relieve stress through work in the fresh air. Communicating with nature, taking care of the environment was a kind of therapy for all project participants.
In frames of the new school year beginning, WFWP provided targeted aid in preparing for school to more than ten IDP families: we bought briefcases, notebooks, pens and other stationery necessary for classes.
There are some moving stories of two families whom we helped.
The family of 9-year-old Ivan and his 7-year-old sister Marianna found themselves in difficult life circumstances: when there is no money, work, and the worst - no support. A difficult fate haunted the boy since childhood, when his father left him at the age of two months. This family lives in the town of Slavyansk, Donetsk region and knows very well what war is. They also know the grief when the dearest person is seriously ill.
The family of Tatiana and her three daughters lost the breadwinner of the family due to a serious illness. Tatiana and Yuri loved each other and children very much. He took all the worries upon himself. After he passed away, she simply got lost, did not know how to live without a spouse and faced a lot of problems. Now all the worries about three daughters fell on her shoulders. They live in very modest conditions, but do not give up and hope for the best. The girls help their mother with work and try to study well.
We wish the best academic year to all our beneficiaries and we sincerely thank you, our dear donors and supporters, for all your help and concern!
