Hello, our dear friends!

Women’s Federation for World Peace continues its activities aimed at helping internally displaced people. We are happy to share the work that has been done in the last 3 months.

1. Providing psychological assistance to IDP children

On July 6, 2021, the WFWP organized an art therapy class for five IDP children. The therapy class was conducted by psychologist Olga. Children got acquainted and communicated with each other, they repeated hand movements, and chose their favorite candies.

The further classes were devoted to the topics of safety "Drawing a magic pond", where children imagined their favorite place. Another lesson "Working with balls" taught children to overcome resentment, anger, injustice. Art therapy with the help of creativity helps to understand their emotions, mastering methods to overcome the negative phenomena that have occurred in life.

2. Humanitarian aid to a large IDP family

On March 29, Diana, a mother of many children, died of a coronavirus infection at the Alexander Clinical Hospital in Kyiv. She was the mother of 13 children. Her husband Vladimir died a week earlier, due to complications caused by a coronavirus infection. This happened on March 22, when a new anti-record for the number of deaths from Covid-19 was set in Ukraine.

Vladimir and Diana had 13 children: five their own and eight adopted children. After the parents were hospitalized, children were first put to the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital, and then to the Kyiv Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children.
Despite that, one of the adopted children of the family could not stand the loss of his parents and committed suicide by jumping off the bridge.

Now the children are in their house with the family of their older sister Alexandra and her husband. Alexandra's family draws up documents for the right of guardianship of all children. The house has been renovated and bed linen has been sewn by volunteers.

WFWP volunteers provided psychological, material and humanitarian assistance to the family. At the moment, more than 40 pairs of shoes and clothes have been transferred.

On the birthday of one of the girls, the WFWP volunteers gave a lot of emotions and joy to the family. An animator was invited, a birthday gift for the girl and sweets for all other children were bought.

3. Women's Federation continued to provide psychological support and humanitarian assistance to Liudmila family, who is the guardian of her two granddaughters. Ludmila's husband died at war, the girls' parents died in a car accident.

We donated clothes and shoes for girls for summer and autumn, including clothes for school. The older sister is fond of ballroom dancing, so we gave her a dress for performances.

Thank you, our dear friends, for all your support and concern!
