Emotional Literacy workshop with Red Cross
Emotional Literacy workshop with Red Cross

Our dearest friends, we want to share with you about our latest work in helping Internally Displaced People from the Eastern Ukraine.

Together with the regional Red Cross Society in Kyiv, Women’s Federation continues special monthly workshops for those who need additional psychological assistance. The project is called "Social adaptation of demobilized soldiers and their families, internally displaced people from the conflict zone". It has themematic organized activities for group work and individual classes with qualified psychologists. One of such workshops for 52 families was held on August 4 under the title "Emotional Literacy".

On August 11 WFWP-Ukraine became a partner of the 5th Charity Festival "Children of God". We invited our beneficiaries to this holiday of childhood and kindness. Except our dear IDPs there were also large families and families in need. About 1000 children took part in the festival that included a buffet and a festive concert with the participation of Ukrainian pop stars and talented children from all over Ukraine.

As many of our beneficiaries faced serious difficulties during the quarantine, we kept giving them financial and in-kind help.

For example, warm and casual clothes, shoes and toys were given to Viktoria, whose husband is fighting in ATO zone and whose son has autism.

Another family that received material, psychological and legal assistanceis is Volodymyr, Tetiana and their disabled adult son. When they were able to travel to Luhansk in 2018 for the first time after the 2014 bombing, they discovered seven craters from military explosions in their home. Going through many difficulties they strongly dream of going home and repairing the house.

There were two other families from Slovyansk, Donetsk region who stay there and who received clothes and shoes by post.

Thank you, our dear friends, for making all this work possible!
