Dear friends, we want to share with you the latest news from our work with Ukrainian Internally displaced families.
May and June was rich for new contacts and useful cooperation with already existing partners. On May 17 we organized a round table together with Kiev-Svyatoshin Center for Social-Psychological Rehabilitation. The round table goal was to make sincere discussion between IDP parents and international specialists and guests. One of the invited specialists was a Legal Guardian & Child’s Advocate from Holland who shared their experience in helping refugees children. IDP families shared their stories and received feedback and encouragement from the round table guests.
One of our new partners was a "Veteran-Volunteer Organization" founded by ex-soldier of ATO Maxim. He fought as a volunteer in ATO from August 2014 to September 2015. They did not want to call him because his only daughter Diana was disabled. But Maxim insisted, and at the war he got a realization, that one should invest in the country, in society, since we all live not by ourselves. When Maxim returned from the front he immediately plunged into public work. Over time, he created his organization that now consists of 10 people. "Veteran-Volunteer Organization" joined an association of NGO "Ukraina.Volya. Zhitiya" and actively holds many public events and projects for people in need.
Together with NGO "Ukraina.Volya. Zhitiya" Women’s Federation organized "Acrylic Miracle" workshop for 10 internally displaced families. The workshop went on June 8, 2018, at the Dnipro riverside. Children and parents took exiting master class from the outstanding artist, a winner of the international prize of Skovoroda, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Associate Professor of the Department of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture of the Publishing and Printing Institution of NTUU. In the end of the workshop children with parents had the opportunity to do archery, ride a boat, swim in the warm river and relax.
And on June 14, in cooperation with Ukrainian Foundation of culture, we organized a project for material assistance to IDP families. Our volunteers collected and passed clothes, toys and other necessary things for adults and children.
This period did show to us one more time that only in partnership we can do great things. So one more time we want to express our gratitude to all our partners and to our dearest donors! Have a nice summer!
